How do you keep up mental health in the workplace?

Christopher Whitnall: Mental health within the workplace is the responsibility of everyone. It is the responsibility of the individual, and it is also the responsibility of the organisation.

At an individual level it is important to be aware of the things that are happening for you. If you know the triggers that spark you being tired, being stressed, being worn down, feeling overawed or overwhelmed by what’s going on, those are the elements.

If you look for those pieces that are triggering what might bringing on an episode of mental health then you can look for opportunities to take a break to, have a rest, delegate some of the tasks, to share how you’re feeling with someone else, either within or external to your organisation.

If you have some of the outlets, those are some of the things to help manage your own mental health.
