Melbourne Expansion

In News by talkforce

After humble beginnings in Gladesville, Sydney in 1993, talkforce is proud and very excited, that we’re fast approaching our 25th birthday next year. We’re a company which will always live by the mantra of putting people at the centre of everything we do. This is reflected by the loyalty of many of our clients over the years, some of who are fast approaching 20 years of continued partnership with talkforce.

Our team, led by Managing Director and Founder, Christopher Whitnall, is passionate and committed to our business. In fact, prior to the recent appointment of our new General Manager, Joseph La Posta, our next newest team member has been with the company for over 9 years. This demonstrates how much our people care about each other and our clients.

Like many other companies, who’ve operated for more than twenty years, our business is founded on strong and sustainable relationships. In ‘today’s’ world where everyone is ‘busy’ and many people make more decisions in a week than our grandparents would have made in a year in the early 20th century, our personable and trusted approach with our clients has stood the test of time.

So when Christopher recently announced to our team he wanted to expand our business by opening a new Melbourne office, it was an announcement which excited everyone. Internally, we’ve coined this project ‘One University, Two Campuses’, with the commitment to Melbourne completing that vision. Our team has long worked with clients in Melbourne, as well as across all Australian capital cities, parts of regional Australia and into Asia. Therefore, a dedicated Melbourne office made logical sense. We are pleased that Diana Cregan, who was formerly part of the Sydney team and has lived in Melbourne for the past five years, has accepted the role of managing the Melbourne office.

Interestingly, when pondering why companies would prioritise Melbourne for expansion, the numbers are hard to dispute. Melbourne is arguably the fastest growing city in Australia, with demographers forecasting Melbourne to overtake Sydney as the largest Australian city by 2030. Melbourne also has some geographic advantages for growth over its New South Wales counterpart. Melbourne is a radial city, adjoining the sea port and Port Phillip Bay, a CBD planned on a grid network, largely flat, and with an ever-expanding Docklands and Southbank precinct. Furthermore, the current Gross State Product (GSP) from Victoria is greater than countries like Singapore and New Zealand. It also enjoys one of the largest construction sectors and is home to many of the Non-Government Organisations (NGO) in Australia. Accordingly, it is time for talkforce to commit to an incredibly exciting new frontier.

Already enjoying strong relationships with Melbourne based businesses including MCN, The Hoyts Group, Val Morgan Outdoor, Cushman & Wakefield, the Australian Ballet and Melbourne Racing Club, we look forward to growing our Melbourne team and presence throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.

We invite everyone in our Melbourne network to join us for our official talkforce Melbourne Breakfast Launch on Thursday 26 October at Grossi Florentino’s, The Grill Restaurant. To register your interest, please email talkforce@talkforce.com.au (places are limited).

There are exciting times ahead and we can’t wait to work with you all in the coming year.
